Our Little 2 year old!

Tyce is 2! We can't believe how fast the last 2 years have gone. He is growing so quickly. His vocabulary is amazing...he's like a sponge (it goes in and comes out just like he heard it...and that is not always a good thing, if you know what I mean!). We had a great birthday party for him yesterday. We had some family and friends over to help us celebrate. Tyce had a blast and of course was spoiled rotten. The theme was sports balls...and we had plenty of balls! My mom made his cake(s) - she made him his own baseball cake which he licked the frosting off of and then used chips to dip into the frosting (YUCK!). He got trucks galore - a dump truck, a huge (noisy) fire truck and a smaller but still noisy fire truck. He got a tool bench that he loves, a new basketball hoop, a race car toy, a flash light that he is making the dog crazy with and a bright red tricycle. Of course he got clothes, but he wasn't too interested - he just threw them aside and kept on trucking. Unwrapping presents and blowing out candles looked like he had been doing it for years! He was exhausted, but today we had a great day being lazy at home, riding his new tricycle and playing with all of his new toys!

Birthday cakes!

Opening presents sitting in his new dump truck

Sitting on his new "big" (noisy) fire truck

Playing with the tool bench - he's fixing everything in the house!

Riding his new tricycle (we're working on pedaling forward instead of backwards)

Eating cake with a chip (who teaches them this stuff?!)

Apple Hill Trip and some other pictures

Fun picture of Tyce being silly!
So we made another Nevada Day trip to Apple Hill with our friends Bailey and Leo (and prayed she didn't go into labor while we were over there...thank the Lord she did just fine). We checked out a bunch of different places and it was actually very quite because the weather was overcast. Tyce rolled pumpkins down the hill. We had a picnic at the park. Dustin got the brilliant idea to stand Tyce on a rock in front of a waterfall...great pictures until he decided he could step off the rock that was bigger than him. Needless to say he fell face first into the mud. Oh well! We were all exhausted by the end of the day, but it was a lot of fun and we look forward to doing it again next year (with Bailey, Leo and J.J.!)

Fun-filled October

Tyce has been keeping on our toes, as usual. He is all of a sudden becoming quite a 2 year old. He talks all of the time about anything! His speech is becoming much more clear and his vocabulary is growing by leaps and bounds. He is becoming more creative in his play and much more of a risk-taker. Nothing seems to scare him- he's an adrenaline junky!!!

We went to our friend's twins birthday party at an indoor bounce house place and Tyce loved it! He went down the biggest slide he could find by himself- he goes down backwards, feet first like a frog and the asked to go again, and again! He went through the maze by himself and loved playing with all of the kids. We had a blast and all of us were exhausted when we left the party - good thing he still likes naps!

Street Vibration visitors

We had a full house over Street Vibrations - my mom, Greg and 2 other couples stayed out our house so they could play during the day. Let's just say we had an interesting couple of days. Friday one of my mom's friends had a car pull out in front of her and she hit them while riding her motorcycle... Luckily she was fine, but her bike didn't fair so well. Then my step-dad laid his bike down when a car stopped suddenly in front of him - luckily bike and hime were ok. Last one of the bikes broke down and while they were fixing it in the garage Tyce had a blast playing in the side car. He loves motorcycles - he calls them bikes and all week long he was so excited every time we saw them while in the car (which the town was infested with bikes) so "Bike!" isa
all we heard.

Summer Fun

We had a very fun and adventurous summer and as it comes to a close I thought I would share some of the exciting times that we have had. Tyce did many "new" things that were exciting. We have decided he is an adrenaline junky! He loves jet skiing, quad riding, swimming and horseback riding.
At the beginning of the summer we went across the state to our friends' ranch outside of Wells, Nevada where we relaxed, fished and played with the horses. Tyce even sat on the horse and was very excited to give the horse kisses. It was still a bit cold so we didn't get to do as much as we would have like, but as always we had a blast.

We have also been jet skiing on Topaz Lake. Mimi (Grandma Hubbard) went with us and Tyce waved at all the people on shore, which was so funny. He thought every one was there to watch him. The most entertaining part was watching Tyce walk in the water because he couldn't see his feet so he kept pulling his leg up high to try and walk on the water. He wasn't so sure about that and when the life jacket flipped him on his back because he couldn't reach anymore - he got very mad! All in all, it was a great day and Tyce kept saying "more, more!"

In July, Tyce and I flew to Michigan with Mimi and Gramps. He loved flying on the plane and we got to see all of our "Hubbard family". Tyce met his great grandparents, Aunts, uncles, cousins and second cousins. It was a fabulous trip and we hope to go back soon.

Our friend Mallory invited us over to go swimming in her mom's new pool, which was so fun. Tyce had no fear and jumped right in and got a quick lesson that he had to wait for us because he can't touch the bottom... he went under water but his dad was right there to catch him. It took him a little to warm up after that, but then he had so much fun we couldn't get him out.

One of our favorite things to do during the warm weather is to go to the park! Tyce loves playing on the big kid equipment, never mind the fact that there is age appropriate equipment to play on. He loves going on the slide, swinging and running!

Tyce's First Camping Trip

We just arrived home from our first "family" camping trip with Tyce. He had a blast and boy is he dirty! He got to see a lot of "wild" deer... they are so "wild" they walk right up to you to be fed and pet, but they live in the wild, so there ya go. He also got to eat roasted marshmellows - that was nice and sticky! He played in the river, played with the fish that dad caught and helped us put up and take down the tent. Grammy and Pop went with us and Tyce and I slept in the camper with Grammy and Pop and Dust slept in the tent. It was very cold at night but he slept with me so we tried to keep each other warm. On the trip home we stopped at Mimi and Gramp's house, but they weren't there so we went into their new trailer to take a little look. It is beautiful and big enough for Tyce to go on trips with them...

Tyce started crying when we had to go but we are all looking forward to many more camping trips in the future.

Just getting started!

Well, one of our friends told us about this website, so we thought we would give a try. Hopefully I will be able to keep up with posting new pictures so that we can share our family fun with all of you!

Tyce is growing like crazy. He is all boy - climbing, jumping and into EVERYTHING! He is very inquisitive and quite hard-headed (I'm not sure where he gets that from!). He loves to be outside so today he was helping us clear the rocks on the out-skirts of our yard until that wasn't interesting anymore (about 2 minutes into the work). He then went and played on the quad which he calls a "bike". He sits on it and says "vroom" and pretends to drive because he has a small version of a quad that he got for his first birthday that he drives everywhere (normally in the standing position). My mom says he's practicing for the X-Games - of course I think that is a HORRIBLE idea.
